Former Student-Athlete Files Lawsuit Against Houston Christian University for Alleged Failure to Respond to Sexual Assault Claims

Former Houston Christian University track coach Sesar Figueroa has been accused of sexual misconduct against female students in two lawsuits. Figueroa is accused of using his position to take advantage of female student-athletes, including sending sexual messages, giving gifts, introducing alcohol, offering opportunities in exchange for sexual favors, and insisting on private meetings. The lawsuits allege that Figueroa "physically and mentally assaulted and degraded" one student and "subjected her to sexual advances and sexual innuendo."
